Water Missions International has two package systems to address different water sources, a Living Water Treatment System (LWTS) and a chlorinator. If one of these systems is not applicable, Water Missions tries to find another water source where a standard system can be used. If there are no other ways, other options would be looked into as well as the overall feasibility of the project.

Chlorinator Application

A chlorinator is a good choice when:

  • fresh water has a low turbidity (lower than 5)
  • normal levels in other tests
  • only has micro-biological contamination

This case most often occurs often with wells, springs or other cleaner and unchlorinated sources. Note the chlorinator cannot be used for surface water treatment. Instead the LWTS should be.

LWTS Application

In the cases where

  • the turbidity is higher than 5
  • if additional treatment steps must be implemented (ex oxidation and filtration to remove iron)
  • if it is surface water

A LWTS is recommended. An LWTS can treat fresh water from a surface (river, lake, etc) or underground water source (spring or aquifer).
