Memorandum of Understanding
Between
Country Program Office
and
(LOCAL MINISTRY PARTNER)

(LMP) is dedicated to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) work of evangelism and discipleship in the community of (COMMUNITY).

Water Missions International (WMI) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) Christian engineering organization headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, dedicated to providing sustainable water systems for emergency response and community development. WMI’s mission is to provide sustainable access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the "Living Water" message in developing countries and disaster areas. WMI seeks to fulfill this mission by partnering with community-based individuals or groups which will maintain and sustain these water systems to provide clean, safe water and use the systems as a tool to share the “Living Water” gospel message of Jesus Christ.

It is the understanding of both WMI and (LMP) that no single organization, either local or international can meet the challenges of providing clean, safe water and “Living Water” to the 1.1 billion people in need. As members of the Body of Christ, we seek a partnership to form a strong coalition for providing physical water and “Living Water” in the community of (COMMUNITY).

The goal of this partnership is to share the “Living Water” gospel message of Jesus Christ as an integral part of bringing clean, safe water to the people of (COMMUNITY) on a sustainable basis. These will be accomplished by:
  1. WMI supporting the evangelism and discipleship work of (LMP) through the provision and installation of a water treatment system in (COMMUNITY)
  2. WMI providing technical and financial resources to provide a water treatment system for the people of (COMMUNITY).
  3. (LMP) using the survey work, training sessions, system installation and longer term maintenance as opportunities to advance the “Living Water” gospel of Jesus Christ.
  4. With assistance from the Country Program Office if needed, (LMP) will develop and implement an evangelism and discipleship plan to use the water system as a vehicle to share Christ’s love with the Beneficiaries

EXPECTED ACTIVITIES
  • Proclaim the “Living Water” message in (COMMUNITY) (LMP)
  • Assist with completion of survey information and application for water systems (LMP)
  • Assist with the securing of funding (WMI)
  • Monitor the sustainability of the water system and provide periodic reports on the impact of the “Living Water” message in (COMMUNITY) (LMP)

DURATION OF PARTNERSHIP AND EVALUATION
It is understood that the length of the partnership will extend as long as the mutually agreed upon goals and objectives are being met. The partnership may be terminated by either party for any reason with 60 days written notice.

Every three months for the first year after each system installation, (LMP) will provide a Spiritual Assessment Report using WMI reporting guidelines to assist in the evaluation of the impact on the “Living Water” message on the community of (COMMUNITY). In addition, at the conclusion of each calendar year (LMP) will provide an Annual Assessment Report using WMI reporting guidelines to assist in the evaluation of the success of the partnership.

GENERAL POLICY GUIDELINES
If circumstances of events occur which considerably alter this agreement, this information will be communicated to the partner in a timely manner and a new course of action will be mutually agreed upon. If any problems related to project implementation arise, these will be resolved with consultation of WMI.

Both WMI and (LMP) understand that the operation of the WMI water treatment system and communication of the good news of Jesus Christ ideally will be carried out by local ministry partners committed to the Living Water message. All ministry partnerships are built on shared Christian values and a common agenda.

The following signatures indicate agreement to all the conditions, requirements and terms of this document.
