Back to 'Table of Contents'

Regional Ministry Partnership Agreement
Between
Water Missions International
And
(REGIONAL MINISTRY PARTNER)

(RMP) is an established nonprofit Christian ministry organization that is dedicated to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) work of evangelism and discipleship in the country of (COUNTRY).

Water Missions International (WMI) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) Christian engineering organization headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, dedicated to providing sustainable water systems for emergency response and community development. WMI’s mission is to provide sustainable access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the "Living Water" message in developing countries and disaster areas. WMI seeks to fulfill this mission by partnering with indigenous organizations which will support the placement and sustainability of these water systems to provide clean, safe water and use the systems as a tool to share the “Living Water” gospel message of Jesus Christ.

It is the understanding of both WMI and (RMP) that no single organization, either local or international can meet the challenges of providing clean, safe water and “Living Water” to the 1.1 billion people in need. As members of the Body of Christ, we seek a partnership to form a strong coalition for providing physical water and “Living Water” in the country of (COUNTRY).

The goal of this partnership is to share the “Living Water” gospel message of Jesus Christ and to bring clean, safe water to the people of (COUNTRY) on a sustainable basis. These will be accomplished by:
  1. WMI supporting the evangelism and discipleship work of (RMP) through the provision and installation of water treatment systems.
  2. WMI providing technical and financial resources to provide and install water treatment systems for selected communities.
  3. (RMP) identifying Local Partners in need to become Beneficiaries of these systems and responsible for sustaining the operation and maintenance of the water systems in the selected communities. For communities with an existing Christian presence, the priority is to identify and recruit Local Partners who are Christian individuals or groups that have the shared vision and commitment to operate and maintain water treatment systems as a tool for building relationships for evangelism and discipleship. Where there is no existing Christian presence, (RMP) will assist in establishing a Safe Water Committee of community leaders who will take responsibility for the security, operation and maintenance of the water treatment systems.
  4. (RMP) supporting the operation and maintenance of the water systems by connecting to the communities and Local Partners through church planting (in communities without a viable Christian church presence), evangelism and discipleship.
  5. WMI and (RMP) providing training to Local Partners for the operation and maintenance of the water system and proper Health and Hygiene practices.
  6. (RMP) using the training sessions and longer term maintenance as opportunities to advance the “Living Water” gospel message of Jesus Christ.

EXPECTED ACTIVITIES
  • Proclaim the “Living Water” message (RMP)
  • Identify the local communities with water needs (RMP)
  • Oversee completion of survey information and application for water systems (RMP)
  • Select recipients of water systems (WMI/RMP)
  • Assist with the securing of funding (WMI)
  • Prepare and educate community to receive a water system (RMP)
  • Assembly and start-up of the water system (WMI)
  • Arrange transportation of water system to (COUNTRY) (WMI)
  • Receive water system and coordinate clearance of all customs requirements (RMP)
  • Provide secure storage or warehousing (RMP)
  • Arrange transportation of water system within (COUNTRY) (RMP)
  • Coordinate installation and training for the water system (WMI/RMP)
  • Monitor the sustainability of the water system and provide periodic reports (RMP)

DURATION OF PARTNERSHIP AND EVALUATION
It is understood that the length of the partnership will extend as long as the mutually agreed upon goals and objectives are being met. The partnership may be terminated by either party for any reason with 60 days written notice.

Every three months for the first year after each system installation, (RMP) will provide a System Assessment Report using WMI reporting guidelines to assist in the evaluation of the system installations. In addition, at the conclusion of each calendar year (RMP) will provide an Annual Assessment Report using WMI reporting guidelines to assist in the evaluation of the success of the partnership.

The data from the System Assessment Reports and Annual Assessment Reports may be used by both parties for the purpose of publicity and philanthropy opportunities.

GENERAL POLICY GUIDELINES
If circumstances of events occur which considerably alter this agreement, this information will be communicated to the partner in a timely manner and a new course of action will be mutually agreed upon. If any problems related to project implementation arise, these will be resolved with consultation of WMI.

(RMP) and WMI will mutually develop and execute a Beneficiary Agreement with the selected Local Partners. This Agreement would include the initial and ongoing requirements to receive the water system and a provision to terminate future support of the systems if the conditions of the Agreement are not met.

Both WMI and (RMP) understand that the operation of the WMI water treatment system and communication of the good news of Jesus Christ ideally will be carried out by local partners committed to the Living Water message. All ministry partnerships are built on shared Christian values and a common agenda. It is incumbent on (RMP) to assure that the Local Partners clearly understand and agree with the dual mission of WMI (pure water and the “Living Water” message) and that their involvement contributes to the successful implementation of this mission.

The following signatures indicate agreement to all the conditions, requirements and terms of this Memorandum of Understanding.
